The Awareness Through Movement® lessons during this workshop will take place while standing.  We will differentiate arm movements from the head & neck to release unnecessary tension in the upper body.

As you let go of muscular tightness in the shoulder girdle you will be able to find skeletal support in standing more easily. Students are surprised when they discover a consequence of increasing their wingspan is standing & walking with a developed lightness in their feet!

Softening the Face, Jaw & Eyes

We will explore Awareness Through Movement® lessons that can  help you become intricately aware of your eyes & mouth thus decreasing tension in your face & jaw muscles.  You will learn how to sharpen & improve your imagination skills throughout this workshop.

Afterwards students reported feeling refreshed and that loved ones frequently comment that they appear to look years younger.

The Art of Skeletal Sitting

This workshop can teach you how to actively obtain skeletal support while gently exploring Awareness Through Movement® lessons while sitting in a chair.  By connecting the movements of your head & neck to the rest of the back & pelvis you can discover how to sit taller with less effort & more comfort. 

At the conclusion of this workshop you will understand better how to artfully explore movements so that functional sitting will be only an inquiry away.

Standing With Skeletal StrengthSkeletalStanding

During this workshop we will explore Awareness Through Movement® lessons that will help you to find skeletal support for secure standing.  Bearing weight properly through the leg bones will keep your feet, knees and hip joints healthy.

This will be accomplished by learning how to move your pelvis gently around your legs and vice versa while standing with support from a chair.  Former students described that afterwards they newly discovered bone strength that allowed them to stand, turn and jump more effortlessly.

Walking is Controlled Falling

Learn how to walk with more power while using less muscular effort.  During this workshop the unique Awareness Through Movement lessons explored will be in standing.

We will examine each walking step.  The lessons are designed to help you figure out how to better transfer the weight of your pelvis and head over your standing leg to create a stable base for the next step.  When you become more integrated in this way, walking becomes effortless as your body moves forward step by step.

As a result, you may come to understand why Dr. Feldenkrais described walking to be controlled falling.
